Mallory and Lisa started to learn flash. They also discovered the Site Maintenance page the previous team left us and watched the instructional videos there. Heather started updating the Tutor Form's recommendation-finding algorithm to display bugs the students may have in the future rather than the bug they just submitted, and Nick wrote a survey for students in early CS courses to help us improve the content on our site. Quentin has taught us all how to work on Bug Catcher, and we're planning to run a competition soon.

This week we created more recommendations, including some in C and PHP. We hope to add more languages to the Vault so students in various classes can use it. We've also made some graphic changes to the site, mainly involving the buttons. There's now a Browse the Vault page so students may view recommendations by topics as well as searching, and the recommendation produced by the Tutor Form now uses the same algorithm and recommendations as the Code Vault. We also  wrote our mid-semester report.

The last week was all about recommendations. We've all learned all about the code vault, and made a few changes to the main keywords as well as adding several dozen search terms to drastically improve its performance. We've talked about different ways to rewrite the algorithm to be much more specific. Heather and Mallory have written new recommendation files to expand our (currently very small) collection. We've also looked into fixing how the tutor form chooses recommendations to show after a bug has been submitted, and the entire tutor form now works in Internet Explorer.

Monday: We changed the links on the quizzes so the answer to the question isn't displayed when you hover over a button. There were a lot of links. A lot.

Wednesday: Worked on graphics, the code vault, and the tutor form's account pages. The 'forgot your password' link now emails your password rather than resetting it. We also worked out a schedule for us to visit the tutor lab next week.

Thursday (Lisa): Made professor form consistent, changed its appearance a bit.

Friday (Heather and Nick): Started making tutor form compatible with IE. Made the code vault fully functional, changed the way recommendations are viewed, and implemented code to capture what users search the vault for.

Saturday (Mallory and Lisa): Continued working on the code vault and making the tutor form IE-compatible. Finished up some more quiz formatting, worked on the professor form, and came with some designs for the homepage and the code vault page.
